The continuous regeneration treatment comprises passing the particles to be sepd., or the two phase medium, in the form of a thin film through a magnetic field which is varied in time, the ratio of flow velocity of the liq. to migration velocity of the magnetic field being 1:1 to 2:1. The thickness of the film is chosen as a function of viscosity (cP) so that the ratio d/eta is 0.5-20. The relative movement between liq. and magnetic field may be in the vertical or horizontal direction, or at an angle between these directions.
