Safety delay for projectile after firing - has stacked discs ensuring safe distance between barrel muzzle and projectile

The delay mechanism is used in rotation stabilised projectiles. The mechanism has several rotating discs arranged to rotate about an axis parallel to projectile longitudinal axis. The stacked discs are released in succession after the first disc has been released for arming the projectile after launching. The delay ensures that the required safety distance between the barrel and the projectile after firing. The rotating discs (9a-b) form a stack on the axis (10) parallel to the fuse axis but situated eccentrically. Each of these discs has also a locking ball (15) which prevents lateral displacement.
