PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly rescue passengers when a brake fails, and to restore an elevator by providing the permission signal by the manual operation, and operating the elevator at low speed in the descending direction by the action of the permission signal when a braking device is failed. SOLUTION: In a linear motor type elevator, the power is fed from a control device 6 consisting of an inverter to primary windings 2a, 2b by the operation command, and the thrust is generated by the electromagnetic action with secondary windings 3a, 3b to elevate/lower a car 1. When a brake is stuck, the permission signal 7 by the manual operation of an operator is inputted into the control device 6, and the power is supplied from the control device 6 to the primary windings 2a, 2b so that the elevator is operated at low speed in the descending direction in the condition in which brakes 4a, 4b hold rails 5a, 5b, i.e., in the condition in which the braking force is present. The elevator is slowly descended by the car weight and the thrust in the descending direction of a linear motor against the braking force of the stuck brakes 4a, 4b, and passengers are rescued on one floor, and the car is lowered to the lowest floor. |
