PURPOSE:To produce an optically active alcohol derivative useful as an intermediate for agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and organic electronic materials in a high optical purity by reacting a specific unsaturated compound with a silane compound in the presence of a transition metal complex containirjg a specific optically active compound as a ligand and oxidizing the reaction product. CONSTITUTION:This optically active alcohol derivative of the formula VII is produced by reacting (A) an unsaturated compound off-formula I [R<1> is a l-20C (halogen-substituted)alkyl or a 2-20C (halogen-substituted)alkoxyalkyl; A<1>, A<2> and A<3> each is group of the formula II, formula III, etc. (when A<1> is a condensed ring, A<2> is a monocyclic group and A<1> is single bond and when A<1> is a monocyclic group and P=1, A<2> and A<3> each is a monocyclic group); (n) is an integer of 0-10; (m) and (p) each is 0 or 1; (u) and (w) each is an integer of 0-3] with (B) a silane compound of formula V (X<5> is H, an alkyl, etc.) in the presence of (C) a transition metal complex containing an optically active t-phosphine compound of the formula IV (R<2> is a halogen, a lower alkoxy, etc.; R<3> is an alkyl, etc.; R<4> and R<5> each is H, etc.) as a ligand and oxidizing the produced optically active organic silicon compound of the formula Vl. |
