The arrangement uses at least one master cam which is connected to the workpiece spindle. Guide rollers of various diameters are mounted in a bearing block. The guide rollers can rotate and be moved axially. The master cam used is pressed by springs against that particular guide roller, the diameter of which corresponds with the state of wear of the grinding wheel. The guide rollers with their mounting form an integral unit with the cam grinding machine which can be moved parallel with and at right angles to the workpiece axis. The guide rollers with their mounting shaft are interchangeable.
