PURPOSE: To efficiently separate blood cells from the whole blood in a short time in a simple operation without using a centrifugal separator, etc., by adding dextran and a bykomycin compound to a collected human blood and subsequent ly leaving the mixture for a prescribed time. CONSTITUTION: This method for separating blood cells comprises adding (B) dextran and (C) bykomycin or a compound having the structure of the bykomycin to a blood collected from a human body, leaving the mixture for a prescribed time to separate the blood cells from the plasma (or serum), and subsequently separating the blood cells from the component A. For example, the method comprises dissolving the components B and C in a physiological salt solution, a buffer solution having the same properties as the physiol saline solution or water, charging the solution into a blood-collecting tube, evaporating the solvent from the solution by a hot air drying method or a lyophilizing method to adhere the components B and C to the inner wall of the blood- collecting tube, charging the component A into the blood-collecting tube, leaving the tube for a prescribed time to separate the blood cells from the plasma (or serum), and subsequently separating the blood cells from the component A. |
