PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device for simply attaching and detaching optical components from a direction substantially vertical with respect to the optical axis direction integrally or separately, by fixing a projection lens and an optical device body to a storage body of a casing for the optical components or the like, without screwing, and to provide a projector. SOLUTION: The optical device 10 has integrated a head part 445 of the optical device body 44 provided with a flange part 31 of a projection optical device 3, a light-modulating device 441 and a color composition optical system 444, and pushes and fixes the flange part 31 and the head part 445 inserted in a detachable groove part 401 in substantially the vertical direction of the optical axis, in the inside of the groove part 401 by an urging member 501.
