PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an entire tandem type image recorder and to reduce irregularities in an image and soiling in a machine. SOLUTION: An intermediate transfer belt 3 whose both ends are stretched and laid by supporting rollers 1 and 2 is arranged obliquely within the range of 30 to 60 deg. and the belt 3 is rotated and carried. Then, image forming process cartridges 4 are arranged in parallel along the belt 3, and the different color images are transferred to the belt 3 in order from the cartridges 4 arranged at an upstream part, so that a multicolor image is formed. The multicolor image on the belt 3 is transferred to paper 7 by a transfer part constituted of the lower supporting roller 2 supporting the belt 3 and a transfer roller 5 press-contacting with the roller 2 by constant pressure while putting the belt 3 in between, and the multicolor image formed on the paper 7 is fixed on the paper 7 by a fixing device 6 arranged below the belt 3, whereby the image is formed. |
