An imaging system uses a copier tool head with a light sensor for transverse scanning of the original photograph. The light/dark variations represented by the output signals from the sensor are evaluated to control an electrovibrator tool for engraving the corresp. relief image in a wood, stone or metal surface. Alternatively, the electrovibrator engraving tool is replaced by an electric flow tool for burning the relief image in the image surface. USE - Accurate reproduction of photographs as relief images.
