PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect information pieces about both lightning discharges in a CG and an IC, using a plurality of remote-programmable sensors (RPS) arranged in different geographical positions, to classify them, to package them, to transmit them by compressed forms, to collect them in a central analyzer position, to expand the information pieces to determine a position of the lightning discharges, a magnitude thereof and a generation time thereof, in a central analyzer, and to correlate them each other. SOLUTION: The present invention discloses a lightning detecting and data acquiring system. The plurality of remote programmable sensors is used to detect cloud-to-ground and IC lightning strokes. Each analog expression of the lightning stroke is converted into a digital signal. The digital signals are classified according to user changeable criteria. The classified digital signals are compressed and optionally decimalized. The compressed information is transmitted to a central position, and the compressed information is expanded in the central position, to be used for correlating the position, the magnitude and a moving route of the detected lightning stroke.
