<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film for a thermal transfer ink ribbon which exhibits an extremely small elongation and shrinkage of the ribbon even at a high temperature where a high tension is applied on the thermal transfer ink ribbon, and is suitable for preventing wrinkles from being generated during thermal transfer. <P>SOLUTION: The polyester film for the thermal transfer ink ribbon is characterized in that the pore volume is 0.50-1.50 ml/g, a porous silica particle with a mean particle diameter of 2.6-4.5 μm with 0.04-0.15 wt.% is incorporated, and the area coefficient of variation is in a range of -150 to 150. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
