PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical article which allows stable continuous duplication of a rugged pattern having a high aspect ratio and can be stably transferred onto a transfer object base, and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: The optical article is formed by laminating, in order from the side nearer to an observer, a transparent substrate 6, a release layer 8, a rugged pattern formation layer 10 where a rugged pattern including a plurality of convex portions arrayed in one dimension is formed, and a light reflecting coating layer 12. The release layer 8 peeled from the transparent substrate 6 at 180° has a peel strength of 20 gf/cmor less when a temperature of heat applied to the release layer 8 is 40°C or lower, and has a peel strength of 200 gf/cmor more when the temperature of heat applied to the release layer 8 is 100°C or higher. |
