PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress expansion and contraction of image data in the conveyance direction, in an image reader for reading a manuscript while conveying.SOLUTION: In an image reader 1, the length of a manuscript is compared with a first conveyance distance L1 between a supply roller and a first conveyance roller along the conveyance path, and a second conveyance distance L2 between the supply roller and a second conveyance roller along the conveyance path (S44). Different parameters are set (S46-S52) for the tip arrival timing ST, and the like, used for reading a manuscript G, in the case of a first type manuscript having the length of manuscript between the first conveyance distance L1 and the second conveyance distance L2 (S44:YES), and in the case of a second type manuscript having the length of manuscript equal to or longer than the second conveyance distance L2 (S44:NO), before the manuscript is read. |
