An occupant restraint device (10) in which an inflatable bag is placed without being folded. The device has the bag (12) placed on the upper side of a seat pan (8) and pressing the front part of a seat cushion from the underside, and also has a gas generator (14) for inflating the bag (12). The bag (12) is placed on the seat pan (8) in a flattened extended state without being folded.
