PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image recording apparatus capable of executing post processes by avoiding image recording from being stopped even when a room of a photosensitive material to expose data thereon is empty. SOLUTION: The image recording apparatus references stored cartridge information and can select a cartridge whose cartridge information is registered in advance as information denoting its availability or an optimum cartridge among loaded cartridges and optionally set their selection range. Further, when the room of the photosensitive material of the selected cartridge to expose data thereon is empty, since the image recording apparatus is configured to be able to set whether the selected cartridge is maintained as a succeeding selection object or rejected, the image recording apparatus can decide a condition for consecutive recording operations.
