The device incorporates a rail (38), which is non-movably located in the conveyor section (90) to be kept free. The rail acts onto every driver elements (27,33) passing it, to move a locking ratchet not in contact with a conveyor trolley (60,61), into release position. An auxiliary drive (109) is switched-on, when the main drive is at a standstill. This moves-out any trolley located in the section to be kept free. The auxiliary drive has a part located under the running rail (34) for the trolleys. The part has a continuous traction member with ratchets. USE/ADVANTAGE - Section of suspended conveyor is esp. for use in area of fire door. Danger-free working is guaranteed, damage to conveyor plant is avoided.
