PURPOSE:To realize a projection type picture display device constituted so that the brightness and the contrast characteristics of a whole screen are effectively enhanced and a high-quality picture with high luminance and' high contrast is displayed. CONSTITUTION:A second microlens array 106 is provided so as to align a condensing spot with a first microlens array 105 in an area 109 which is one among the plural picture elements 102 of a liquid crystal display panel 101 being as a light valve and whose luminance is desired to be enhanced. Therefore, the luminance of the elements 102 in a central area 110 can be enhanced. |
