PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a range-finder by which a highly precise focusing can be realized by enabling a passive focusing and an active focusing by using a CCD as a light receiving sensor and improving demerits of the passive and the active focusings. SOLUTION: This range-finder is provided with the light receiving sensors (passive sensors PSA and PSB and active sensor AS) constituted of a CCD element and a light emitting element (LED) 40 for irradiating an object with light. A pattern mask 41 is arranged at the element 40 and the object is irradiated with the light of a pattern having required light intensity so that its reflected light can be received by the passive sensors PSA and PSB and the active sensor AS. Then, the active focusing is executed by receiving the light of the pattern having the required light intensity by the active sensor AS and obtaining the centroid position of an object image. Besides, the passive focusing is executed by receiving the light of the pattern having the required light intensity as the auxiliary light by the passive sensors PSA and PSB. |
