摘要 The present disclosure relates to a 5th generation (5G) or a pre-5G communication system for supporting a higher data rate after a 4th generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). Embodiments of the present invention provide a beamforming transmitting/receiving apparatus and method for use in MIMO-based wireless communication systems. According to one embodiment of the present invention, provided is a method for operating a transmitting end in a wireless communication system. The method comprises the steps of: determining one or more transmitting beam candidates from among a number of transmitting beams, and one or more receiving beam candidates from among a number of receiving beams; determining an optimal beam combination from combinations of the transmitting beam candidates and the receiving beam candidates; and transmitting/receiving data to/from a receiving end on the basis of the optimal beam combination.
