A device is provided for retrieving objects from a body. The device may comprise a body (157), a slide assembly (161) slidably attached to the body, an articulator (162) rotatably attached to the body and in communication with the slide assembly, and wires (151a, 151b) attached proximally to the articulator and distally to a basket (B), such that moving the slide assembly can retract and extend the basket longitudinally. The articulator comprises an articulator drum (160) with a female thread or threads (156a, 156b), and the proximal ends of the wires are connected to wire pivots (153a, 153b) which engage the female thread(s) respectively via male threads (155a, 155b). When the drum is rotated, the wire pivots move towards or away from each other as they follow the female thread(s), causing the basket to move transversely from side to side. |
