The present invention is a bank repair method for cases of occurrences of defects caused by breakdowns and foreign matter in banks when manufacturing an organic EL display device. Whether defects arising in vertical banks among the vertical banks formed on an underlying substrate are present is detected. When a defect is detected, a dam is formed within each of the recessed spaces adjacent to both sides of the vertical bank where the defect is present to divide the recessed space into a first space formed from a space part in proximity to the defect and a second space formed from a space part not in proximity to the defect. The dam is shaped such that when ink for forming a light-emitting layer is discharged into the recessed spaces from a nozzle head, an impact point is present in each of the first space and the second space.
