An assembly comprising two longitudinal roof bars (2) and means for fastening same to the two sides of the passenger compartment (1) of a motor vehicle, characterised in that each of the two roof bars (2) comprises a first element (3) intended to be fastened longitudinally to the top portion (4) of one of the two sides of the passenger compartment (1) and a second element (5) linked to the first element (3) and forming an obtuse angle with the first element (3), said second element (5) being intended to be fastened to the inclined rear portion (6) towards the bottom of said side of the passenger compartment (1).
