摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electrolytic solution for a magnesium air battery which is excellent in power generation duration time and discharge capacity.SOLUTION: Four cells 20 and an electrically conductive metal plate 28 are encapsulated in a case 11 while the four cells 20 are laminated and the electrically conductive metal plate 28 is further laminated at one end of the case 11, and the lower surface of the case 11 is sealed by a cap 15 having a through-hole 16, thereby forming a magnesium air battery 10. Each cell 20 comprises a stainless positive electrode 21, a positive electrode active body 22 containing active charcoal, an electrolytic layer 23 constructed by a separator sheet holding electrolyte, and a negative electrode 24 formed of magnesium alloy AZ31. The electrolytic layer 23 is formed by infiltrating water solution added with 0.2% potassium chloride into ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid tetra sodium (EDTA4Na) and then drying the water solution. By using ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid tetra sodium as the electrolytic solution, generation of magnesium hydrate can be suppressed, and a power generation duration time and discharge capacity can be enhanced.
