A transmitter circuit, comprising: a first circuit configured to transmit data in a first data transmission mode by altering a potential difference between a first signal line and a second signal line, comprising providing a first transmission value to the first and second signal lines by applying a potential between a first conductor and a second conductor determined by a terminating resistor coupled between the first and second conductor, and providing a second transmission value to the first signal line and the second signal line by applying a first reference potential to the first conductor and a second reference potential, which is different from the first reference potential, to the second conductor; a second circuit configured to transmit data in a second data transmission mode by altering the potential difference between the first signal line and the second signal line, comprising providing a first transmission value to the first and second signal lines by applying a third reference potential to the first conductor and a fourth reference potential to the second conductor, and providing a second transmission value to the first signal line and the second signal line by applying the fourth reference potential to the first conductor and the third reference potential to the second conductor; a switching circuit configured to control the first circuit and the second circuit to transmit data in the first data transmission mode or in the second data transmission mode, wherein the first signal line is coupled to the first conductor and the second conductor and the second signal line is coupled to the second conductor, and wherein the first circuit comprises a first transistor coupled between the first reference potential and the first conductor and further comprises a second transistor coupled between the second reference potential and the second conductor, and wherein in the second data transmission mode the first transistor and the second transistor are configured to be in a conducting state, when the second transmission value is to be transmitted.
