PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner for a vehicle capable of preventing large size of a physical body caused by ensuring a mounting place of a gas sensor 91. SOLUTION: An air contamination degree detection means 9 is arranged in a control base board chamber 81 and a sub-suction port 31 is provided on a casing 2. When a fan 5 is operated, air sucked from the sub-suction port 31 is passed through a periphery of the air contamination degree detection means 9 and flows into an air passage K1 in an upstream side at a suction side of the fan 5. According to this, the air contamination degree detection means 8 is arranged in the control base board chamber 81 same as the control base board 8 from a clearance with the suction port 3 in the upstream side than filters 6, 7.
