<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate musical sound of a drum pattern as intended by a user from a sound source device with a different key map. <P>SOLUTION: Key map information which specifies the key map for associating pitch information with a drum tone is attached to a pattern data composed of the pitch information and sound generating timing information which are associated with the drum tone, while the key map of the sound source device being the output destination of performance data generated on the basis of the pattern data is specified. When the key map is different, the pitch information of the pattern data is converted according to the key map of the sound source device, and the performance data of the drum pattern are generated on the basis of the converted pattern data. Then, the generated performance data are output to the sound source device.
