PURPOSE:To make is possible to displace a ship, back and forth, left and right, and for turning with a marine engine being stopped, by providing auxiliary propelling units each having a horizontally propelling propeller and being angularly variable in the horizontal direction, in the front and rear of a deck in the ship. CONSTITUTION:Auxiliary propelling units 10 are attached to a ship deck at two position in the bow and stern sections of the ship, respectively. Each propelling unit 10 comprises an auxiliary propelling device 12 incorporating a propeller 36 rotated by a motor 27, and a rotary support member 17 for supporting the propelling device 12, rotatably in the attaching surface thereof. Further, in the rotary support device 17, a hydraulic motor 22 rotates a worm shaft and a work gear to control the rotation of the auxiliary propelling device 12. Accordingly, by controlling the combination the propelling directions of the propellers 35 in the auxiliary propelling units 10 provided in the bow and stern sections of the ship, the ship may be displaced laterally, longitudinally, and for turning.
