1477055 Polyurethane coated ship or aircraft GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO 11 Oct 1974 [23 Nov 1973] 44188/74 Heading B2E A ship or an aircraft has an anti-icing coating of 10 to 50 mils of a polyurethane prepared from a reaction mixture which contains a polycarbinol silicone having structure (A) or (B) where R is C 1 -C 10 alkyl, R' is a C 1 -C 10 alkylene radical, x is an integer sufficient to give the silicone a molecular weght of 600- 2500 and y is 2 or 3. Prefereably R is methyl and R' is propylene. Preferably the vessel is primed with a coat of an epoxy resin, e.g. that sold under the Registered Trale Mark "CONAP". Suitable polyurethane forming compounds are listed.
