<p>PURPOSE: A propulsion apparatus for a ship is provided to uniformly maintain the output torque of an internal combustion engine when the disturbance is applied to the ship. CONSTITUTION: A propulsion apparatus for a ship includes a generator(14), an electricity consumer(13), a load torque operator, and a controller(20). The generator is installed on a power communications course, and generates electricity by being operated by an internal combustion engine. The electricity generated from the generator is supplied to the electricity consumer. The load torque operator calculates the load torque applied to the power communications course. The controller compares the change reference value of the load torque calculated by the load torque operator, and the load torque applied to the power communications course for reducing or increasing the electricity generation amount of the generator.
