PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an information processing apparatus to acquire scan data from a scan device without using a driver.SOLUTION: A scanner 10 determines the presence/absence of reading into a named pipe by a PC 30, or determines whether a command for executing reading of a file by the PC is received. In the case where there is the reading into the named pipe by the PC or the command is received by the scanner, scan processing is executed. Scan data generated by the scan processing are then written into the named pipe. Otherwise, the scan data are transmitted to the information processing apparatus. Namely, the PC can acquire the scan data only by executing the reading into the named pipe or outputting the command for executing the reading of the file. Thus, the information processing apparatus can acquire the scan data from the scan device without using the driver. |
