PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new cell chip holding a live cell on a substrate while keeping the functions of the cell. SOLUTION: The cell chip is composed of a honeycomb porous material made of a water-insoluble polymer and having through-holes and human hepatocyte held in the porous material. The cell chip, especially a cell chip holding human hepatocytes on both surfaces of the honeycomb porous material has various merits such as the keeping of drug metabolic enzyme activity, especially P450 activity for a long period, and the stable keeping of the cell number.
