PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely hold a hydraulic cylinder device when held at a stop position while actualizing smooth operation of the hydraulic cylinder device when started to elongate or contract a rod from the stop position and when stopped to stop the rod, without producing impact. SOLUTION: When stopping the hydraulic cylinder device in the state of contracting the rod and when stopping the hydraulic cylinder device in the state of elongating the rod, a selector valve is changed over from a first opening position and a second opening position into a closing position, respectively. Then, when contracting and elongating the rod, the selector valve is changed over from the closing position into the first opening position and the second opening position, respectively.
