The invention relates to a transesterification method for obtaining a biofuel based on the application of a combined catalysis, which includes a solid catalyst of metallic salts supported on mesoporous materials and a homogeneous catalyst formed by a strong base solution in an alcohol. The combination of both catalysts improves the method for the biofuel synthesis, including the respective yield increase and the reduction of the reaction time down to 15 minutes with regard to a traditional alkaline transesterification. The aforementioned characteristic promotes the reduction in costs of the method for obtaining biofuel, since substances are maintained at a temperature higher than the room temperature for a reduced time. A further advantage of the invention is that the increase of about 99% of the reactants conversion reduces the cost of subsequent separation methods with regard to a traditional alkaline catalysis transesterification, thus turning the production carried out by the pres ent method into a more cost-effective alternative.
