PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid dispenser comprising novel components.SOLUTION: A fluid dispenser 110 for use with a fluid supply 170 comprises: a dosing chamber 120; and a piston 114 which is mounted to reciprocate forwardly and rearwardly in the dosing chamber and has a seal to sealingly slide on a wall of the dosing chamber. A rearward stroke of the piston enables the dosing chamber to be filled with the fluid from the fluid supply. A forward stroke of the piston pumps the fluid present in front of the piston out of the dosing chamber. The seal is adapted in use to come out of sealing contact with the dosing chamber wall during the rearward stroke to enable the fluid to flow forwardly past the seal into the dosing chamber in front of the piston.
