Provided is footwear which has a detachably-mounted upper, said footwear sufficiently preventing the mounted upper from coming away and allowing for a reduction in overall thickness. In one method of implementation, in order to attach and detach an upper (5) from an outsole (3), a plurality if insertion pieces (15) formed from an elastic material are provided to the periphery of the upper (5), and a locking hole (19) is formed in each insertion piece (15). Insertion holes (21) that allow the insertion of the insertion pieces (15) therethrough are formed in the outsole (3) at the positions where the insertion pieces (15) are located when the upper (5) is in a mounted state. Locking protrusions (31) are formed in the outsole (3) at positions where it is possible to lock the locking holes (19) when the insertion pieces (15) have been inserted through the insertion holes (21). The dimensions of the insertion holes (21) are such that insertion becomes possible only when, during insertion, the insertion pieces (15) contact the insertion holes (21) and are pressed in the lateral direction, thereby crushing the locking holes (19) so that the lateral width is reduced. |
