The present invention discloses a display panel and a manufacturing method thereof. The display panel can be an LCD display panel or an OLED display panel. The display panel comprises a glass substrate, a glass panel, and a light emitting unit disposed between the glass substrate and the glass panel. A filtering layer is installed in a light exiting direction of a blue light emitting material of the light emitting unit to filter a blue light of a predetermined wavelength range. The filtering layer filters the blue light of the predetermined wavelength range generated by the display panel to prevent the high energy, short wavelength blue light from damaging human eyes.
