<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peripheral structure of a base part of a front pillar that is advantageous for ensuring quietness while avoiding the complexity of component shapes and the increase in weight or the deterioration in yield due to the complexity of component shapes. <P>SOLUTION: The peripheral structure of a base part of a front pillar for an automobile includes: a dash side panel 2; and a pillar panel 3 having a lower part joined to the vehicle exterior side of the dash side panel 2 and pillar parts 31, 32 extending above the lower part.
