1. An image processing apparatus, comprising:
a storage device configured to store documents; a controller configured to determine whether or not a document has been newly stored in the storage device; and a sending unit configured to, in a case where it is determined by the controller that a document has been newly stored in the storage device, send an e-mail including information indicative of a storage location of the newly stored document; a power supply unit configured to supply power to the controller in a first power mode; and a detection unit configured to detect a user's instruction for shifting from a first power mode in which power is supplied to the controller to a second power mode in which power is not supplied to the controller, wherein the controller is configured to, if the user's instruction is detected by the time that the e-mail is sent, perform control so that shifting from the first power mode to the second power mode is prohibited.
