377,409. Preventing unauthorized use. BALZER, H. GERMANN- and HUBER, H. HEGGLI-, Baar, near Zug, Switzerland.- (Assignees of Germann, E.; Baar, near Zug, Switzerland.) July 10, 1931, No. 19874. Convention date, Aug. 4, 1930. [Class 7 (ii).] A safety device for motor vehicles and vessels is formed by the barrel of a safety lock which when closed shuts off the fuel supply, interrupts the ignition and lighting circuits and closes a switch in an alarm circuit. This circuit is interrupted by a second switch adapted to be closed to sound the alarm when either (1) the engine bonnet is raised, (2) the starter is actuated, (3) the brake is released, or (4) the rear wheel support of a motor cycle is moved. As shown in the Figure, the device is enclosed in a box 17, and when the key in the lock 1 is turned, the gear wheel 6 shuts the petrol cock 4 and rotates a spindle 8 carrying a switch 11 to break the lighting and ignition contacts 13, 14, and bridge the alarm contacts 15. |
