The method involves detecting a simultaneous unavailability of two surveillance sets of two electronic redundant systems (S1, S4), and determining whether the two unavailable sets are not redundant sets, where the two surveillance sets provide information related to an aircraft's environment. The information from available surveillance sets of one of the system, or from the redundant surveillance sets of the other system are automatically selected (S3, S6). The redundant surveillance sets of the latter system are matched with the unavailable surveillance sets of the former system. An independent claim is also included for a surveillance device. |
