<p>The present invention addresses the problem of providing a technique for manufacturing a high-quality dissolving kraft pulp in a high yield. A process for manufacturing a dissolving kraft pulp which comprises (a) a step for subjecting wood chips to hydrothermal treatment and thereby hydrolyzing hemicellulose contained in the wood chips, (b) a step for washing the treated wood chips and recovering the resulting wood chips, and (c) a step for subjecting the recovered wood chips to kraft cooking and thereby forming a dissolving kraft pulp, wherein in the kraft cooking, a quinone compound is added in an amount of 0.01 to 1.5 mass% relative to oven-dry wood chips.</p>
