Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for controlling the coating weight of plating for continuous plating a metal strip. According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided is the apparatus for controlling the coating weight of plating for continuous plating a metal strip comprising: a pair of electromagnetic induction parts installed in the front and the rear of the metal strip to apply a magnetic field vertically to a metal strip, which is discharged from a molten plating bath and vertically ascends; and a power supply means for supplying a three phase alternating current including DC offset to a pair of electromagnetic induction parts. Moreover, provided is the method for controlling the coating weight of plating for continuous plating a metal strip comprising: a step for lifting and transferring the metal strip vertically from the molten plating bath; a step for controlling the coating weight of plating the metal strip by applying a magnetic field vertically to the metal strip; and a step for suppressing vibration of the metal strip by applying a direct current magnetic field to the metal strip vertically. According to the present invention, the three phase alternating magnetic field and direct current magnetic field can be applied by applying a three phase alternating current having DC offset to a winding wire of each phase of an electromagnet. |
