PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flash device that stops charge of a main capacitor of a flash device when firming up the flash device, discharges a charge voltage of the main capacitor until the charge voltage reaches a voltage lower than a predetermined charge voltage (a voltage capable of light emission), then, starts firming-up, and can prevent wrong light emission even when a firm of the flash device performs a wrong operation and a light emission circuit performs a wrong operation. ! SOLUTION: In a camera system in which a flash device is detachably attachable to a camera, a program area capable of firming up is built in the flash device, and the program area having a firm program of the flash device written can be overwritten by an instruction from the camera via communication, at a time of firming up, charge of a main capacitor of the flash device is stopped, and firm-up is started after a charge voltage of the main capacitor is discharged to a voltage lower than a predetermined charge voltage. ! |
