PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acidic electrolytic solution capable, even in a case where the surface of a stainless steel is electrolytically polished by using a solution including phosphoric acid as a main component, of preventing the clouding of the stainless steel surface without entailing the degradation, over time, of a component for suppressing the generation of iron phosphates, and of preserving the polishing performance and welding passivation performance thereof.SOLUTION: The provided electrolytic solution is an aqueous solution including 50-70 mass% of phosphoric acid and at least 0.5 mass% of a phosphate-type chelating agent. On an occasion where iron included within a stainless steel connected to an anode is ionized and eluted at the time of electrolytic polishing, the eluted iron ion is collected, prior to the reaction of the iron ion with the phosphate ion within the electrolytic solution, by the phosphate-type chelating agent added to the electrolytic solution, and it becomes possible to suppress the generation of iron phosphates as a result of the reaction of the iron ion and phosphate ion and to prevent the clouding of the stainless steel surface. |
