Provided is a recording device that makes it possible to minimize increases in the size of said recording device and to minimize costs related to a configuration in which an ink tube extends outward from the housing of the recording device. The recording device comprises: a recording unit having a head unit that comprises a recording head, said head unit being movable within the main body of the device in the scanning direction of the recording head; and a scanner unit that is provided to the upper section of the recording unit and that is capable of opening and closing the upper section of the recording unit. The recording unit comprises: a housing that forms an opening that exposes at least part of the area above the movement area of the head unit; a flexible ink tube that is affixed using the upper surface of the area surrounding the opening and that extends outside of the housing from between the scanner unit and the recording unit; and a medium-receiving tray having formed thereon an escape section that is arranged so as to avoid a feeding means on the upstream side of a medium discharge direction.
