The brake control system (1) comprises a brake unit (2), which is formed as spring brake, particularly a brake unit working as parking brake. An electrically actuatable brake valve unit (15) is provided, which is upstreamed for controlling the brake unit of a brake release pressure chamber (7a,7b), which has an electrically actuatable switching valve (16). The switching valve is impinged into the pressureless position (16b) by the electrical control of the switching valve for achieving the emergency brake function.
