PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device preventing locking of a touch panel and turning off of a display which are conducted when a sensor falsely recognizes that the portable terminal device is placed in contact with user's ear.SOLUTION: A portable terminal device 100 of this invention includes: a wireless communication part 122 which conducts wireless communication with a base station 124; a touch panel display 104 including a touch panel and a display; a housing 102 which includes the touch panel display 104 at a center thereof; a voice output part 114 provided above the touch panel display 104; a first proximity sensor 106 provided above the touch panel display 104; a second proximity sensor 108 provided below the touch panel display 104; and a control part 118 which locks the touch panel when the first proximity sensor 106 and the second proximity sensor 108 conduct the proximity detection during telephone conversation.
