PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for tire side section reinforcement that can improve high mileage, run flat runnability, and processability in favorable balance; and a run flat tire using the same.SOLUTION: A rubber composition for tire side section reinforcement includes: a rubber constituent; silica; and a compound shown by the formula (1). In the rubber composition, a content of the silica is 5-150 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the rubber constituent, and a content of the compound shown by the formula (1) is 0.3-30 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the silica. |
