PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which prevents excessive temperature rise of a filter, and suppresses leakage of particles generated in the vicinity of a fixing device to the outside of the apparatus.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a duct 41 including an inlet 42 opening within the apparatus and an outlet 43 opening outside the apparatus, for discharging air around a fixing part; an exhaust fan 45 provided within the duct 41; a filter 46 which is provided within the duct 41 and catches particles in the air; a temperature sensor 47 which acquires a temperature in the air within the duct 41; a subduct 51 including a confluence 48 opening within the duct 41 upstream the filter 46; and a shutter 53 which prevents the air within the subduct 51 from joining together with the air within the duct 41. The opening of the shutter 53 is controlled based on the acquired temperature information, by closing the shutter 53 when the temperature is under a predetermined reference temperature, and opening the shutter 53 when the temperature is the reference temperature or higher. |
