An efficiency evaluation method of an EGR cooler is provided to determine that the performance reduction of the EGR cooler easily by comparing the temperature when the EGR bypass valve is opened with the temperature when the EGR bypass valve is closed. An efficiency evaluation method of an EGR cooler comprises a step of closing an EGR bypass valve and reading the gas temperature sensed by a temperature sensor mounted on the intake manifold(S110,S120), a step of opening the EGR bypass valve and reading the gas temperature sensed by the temperature sensor(S130,S140), a step of calculating the difference between the read gas temperatures(S150), a step of determining whether the difference exceeds a specific temperature(S160), and a step of, when the difference is below the specific temperature, determining the performance degradation of the EGR cooler(S170). |
